Sales Were Up 150% In March
Hyundai has developed a strong portfolio of electric and hybrid vehicles, and first-quarter sales reflect the brand’s commitment to them. Hybrid sales increased 50 percent in March and 61 percent during the first quarter. The March increase was led by the Sonata Hybrid, which saw sales spike 150 percent year over year. Other notable hybrids showing strong performance include the Elantra Hybrid, which was up 92 percent for the month, and the Santa Fe Hybrid, which rose 31 percent.
These sales increases weren’t a one-month fluke, but were the result of a strong quarter, with the Sonata Hybrid posting a 107 percent increase over last year, while the Elantra Hybrid led the quarter with a 141 percent increase compared to the year before. These two hybrid sedans show that shoppers are looking for stylish hybrids that offer a strong balance of efficiency and quality.
