Lexus Australia is recalling its large GX off-road SUV and its small UX crossover SUV due to an issue with their digital instrument cluster.

The recall affects the petrol-powered GX550, hybrid UX300h, and electric UX300e.

“During vehicle startup, due to a software error of the combination meter, some areas of the combination meter may not be displayed,” the company says in its recall notice.

“In this condition, the indicators for engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature, electrical charge, and other warning messages may not display on the combination meter.

“Failure of the instrument cluster to display critical safety information or warning indicators may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

This week, Toyota also recalled certain current-generation Prado SUVs for the same issue.
