Kia Australia has slashed drive-away pricing for its Tasman dual-cab ute, with savings of up to $13,000 on select models.
After extending its 2025-build drive-away deals in February, the bulk of the Kia Tasman ‘Dual Cab Pick-up’ range has been subject to further drive-away discounts, likely in response to slow sales.
The biggest winners are the flagship X-Pro and mid-spec SX+, with $13,000 and $11,500 slashed off their drive-away stickers to $64,990 and $54,990 D/A, respectively. The penultimate X-Line, has also seen a $11,000 price cut to $59,990 D/A.

Finally, the SX grade has dropped by $6500 to $51,990 drive-away, making the jump from S 4×4 to SX 4×4 just $2000. Tasman S 4×2 and 4×4 models remain unchanged at $42,990 and $49,990 D/A, respectively.
To the end of April 2026, the Kia Tasman has returned 1658 registrations in Australia year to date across 4×2 and 4×4 variants, with the vast majority of buyers going for the latter. By comparison, the Ford Ranger does more than double that volume in a month.
It’s a far cry from the local arm’s original 20,000-unit annual sales target, which at this rate won’t even be half-met by the Tasman’s first birthday in Australia come July. For reference, the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux each eclipsed 50,000 units for the 2025 calendar year.
That’s despite the Tasman having one of the most varied and complex lineups in Kia’s local stable, with five distinct trim levels, a choice of 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains, as well as dual-cab pickup, dual-cab/chassis and single-cab/chassis body variants.
In January, Kia Australia CEO Damien Meredith said: “We’ve got a lot of work to do, and we know that it’s a great product and it will work within the Australian market.”
“We’re not making or looking for excuses in regards to its slow start. It’s only been on the market for seven months, it hasn’t been in market in seven years. Australia asked for this product – so we do have to make it work,” Mr Meredith added.
The revised pricing for the upper half of the Kia Tasman range sees it positioned more competitively against the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux, as well as the Isuzu D-Max and Mitsubishi Triton.
For reference, the X-Pro’s new $64,990 drive-away price point undercuts the equivalent D-Max X-Terrain 3.0 ($69,990 D/A), and Toyota HiLux SR5 (~$69,800); while the X-Line at $59,990 D/A is within a whisker of the latest Ford Ranger XLT 2.0 4×2 (~$58,500).
