The 2027 Polestar 4 electric vehicle (EV) is now available to order in Australia, bringing updates to the brand’s best-selling model while retaining its starting price.
Scheduled to arrive in July-August 2026, the updated Polestar 4 coupe SUV will start at $78,500 before on-road costs for the first of three model grades.
The entry-level ‘Rear motor’ model will be joined by ‘Dual motor’ and ‘Dual motor with Performance pack’ versions, with the previous ‘Long Range’ naming convention dropped.
The Polestar 4 is the automaker’s best-selling model in Australia and, while behind the Tesla Model Y (12,324 sales year-to-date), is ahead of the Porsche Macan Electric (420) and Audi Q6 e-tron (335).

The model-year 2027 (MY27) update doesn’t include an anticipated additional body style Polestar Australia has confirmed is coming in late 2026 or early 2027, but about which it has shared little else.
For the MY27 Polestar 4 coupe, there are equipment changes across the lineup, though the exterior design remains unchanged from when the model was introduced here in 2024.
Changes for the 2027 model year include a recalibrated chassis, with significant suspension revisions including new spring rates, high-capacity dampers and revised anti-roll bar settings.
Combined with a new steering tune, Polestar said in a statement the chassis tweaks are intended to bring a “more controlled ride” and improve both comfort and the 2230kg coupe’s dynamic agility.

There’s also faster charging available through a revised options list, with 22kW AC (alternating current) charging now a standalone option on all grades, where it was previously included only in the Plus pack.
Priced at $900, it halves the standard 11kW AC charging full-charge time to 5.5 hours for the 100kWh lithium-ion battery fitted to all models.
Other new options include the Comfort pack, priced at $1200 and adding a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable steering column and 12-way power-adjustable front seats.
Nappa leather is also offered at $6100 in Zinc and $5700 in Charcoal, the latter available only with the optional Plus pack.
The Plus pack has been reduced from $8000 to $6500, bringing the same additions as before apart from the 22kW charging upgrade.
This includes Pixel LED headlights with adaptive high-beam, a front-mounted illuminated Polestar logo and hands-free power tailgate, while the cabin gains four heated seats, 12-way power-adjustable front sports seats and reclining rear seats.
Also included are a heated steering wheel, 14.7-inch head-up display, 12-speaker 1320W Harman Kardon sound system and tri-zone climate control.
The $2500 Pro pack – which brought 21-inch Pro wheels, Michelin tyres, Swedish Gold valve caps and gold seatbelt stripes – has been removed, with these features now used to further differentiate model grades.

This sees black seatbelts and rotary controls on the Rear motor, black seatbelts with a Swedish Gold stripe on the Dual motor, and full Swedish Gold detailing for the top-spec Dual motor with Performance pack.
The Dual motor is priced from $86,350 before on-road costs, matching the previous Long Range Single Motor Plus and undercutting the Long Range Dual Motor it replaces by $1850.
The Dual motor with Performance pack requires both the Plus pack and Performance pack, bringing the total to $100,050 before on-road costs, yet making it $7148 cheaper than the outgoing Long Range Dual Motor Plus Performance.
The Performance pack remains priced at $7200 and includes 22-inch forged alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres, Polestar Engineered chassis tuning and Brembo high-performance brakes with gold calipers.
There are no powertrain changes, with the Rear motor retaining its 200kW/343Nm rear-mounted electric motor, delivering a claimed 0-100km/h time of 7.1 seconds and a WLTP driving range of 620km.
The Dual motor adds a second 200kW motor to the front axle, making it all-wheel drive. Its combined output of 400kW/686Nm cuts the 0-100km/h sprint to 3.8 seconds, while WLTP range falls to 590km.
The updated Polestar 4 will arrive in Australia ahead of the Polestar 5, a rival to the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT, which is priced from $171,100 before on-road costs.
