Jaguar Land Rover Australia is recalling the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport for a seatbelt defect.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear centre seatbelt anchor buckle may not meet specifications. As a result, the seatbelt may not properly latch or operate as intended,” the company says in its recall notice.
“In the event of an accident or hard braking, if the seatbelt does not properly latch or operate as intended, it will increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

- A total of 45 vehicles are affected, produced between 2024 and 2025, across the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport lines

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with an authorised JLR dealer to have the rear centre seatbelt buckle and buckle-retaining bolt replaced, free of charge.

This is the second recall this year for the current-generation Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, after 11 examples across both model lines were recalled in March for a defective panoramic glass roof.
