Those who haven’t been living under a rock for the past six years know good and well how impressive the C8 Corvette is. From the bargain performance price to the supercar-killing potential, the C8 has thoroughly shaken up the global performance industry. That said, GM isn’t slowing down with its darling coupe, as it has just released pricing for the latest addition to the Corvette stable, and it’s still as affordable as a car with this much capability can get.
The Corvette Grand Sport Enters The Game With A Sub-$90,000 MSRP
The C8 Corvette Grand Sport debuted less than a month ago on March 26th, though it wasted no time upgrading the expectations of not only the Grand Sport name but also the evolution of the C8 generation. The first and most notable update came in the form of a new V8 engine. The sixth-generation small-block 6.7-liter LS6, now standard on the entry-level 2027 Stingray, made its debut in the 2027 Grand Sport with more power and more refined attributes, including improved heat management and Stealth Mode in the hybrid variant.
The Grand Sport trim is slotted comfortably between the base model and the track-focused Z06, and pricing reflects this. Starting MSRP for the C8 Corvette Grand Sport 1LT coupe sits at $88,495, including delivery fees, and tops out at $130,145 for the Grand Sport X 3LT convertible. As a refresher, the Grand Sport X adds an electric motor to the new LS6, effectively replacing the E-Ray as the lineup’s entry-level hybrid; the ZR1X is the very high-powered hybrid model that’s currently making multi-million-dollar supercars cry at the track.
How The Grand Sport’s Pricing Extends The Corvette’s Influence
The GS and GS X variants of the Corvette will continue the C8 generation’s fine work of disrupting the performance car market by challenging those that offer comparable, often less, performance at a price much more accessible to the public. And while $88,495 isn’t “affordable,” considering the average price for a new vehicle sits around $50,000 — and even that isn’t affordable — the level of performance at that price is.

Also, you get to put that new V8 through the paces, which is a key selling point for the 2027 models, as it adds 40 more horsepower and 55 more pound-feet of torque compared to the outgoing unit. In the Grand Sport X, that number is increased to a 66-horsepower bump.
What You Get For That Price
The standard C8 Grand Sport will feature the new LS6, as well as Magnetic Ride Control, a touring suspension, and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 4 all-season tires. Various performance packages can be added to any of the GS trims, including the GS X, which gives them track goodies from the Z06 model. This allows the Corvette Grand Sport to go from competent, exhilarating grand tourer to certified track menace, depending on how you option it.
In other Corvette news, there have been price hikes across the lineup for 2027, including a $1,000 jump for the Stingray, an $8,705 jump for the ZR1, and a whopping $15,200 price jump for the beastly ZR1X. However, the Z06 actually got $1,400 cheaper — we’ll take it!
