China’s Xpeng has released initial details for its factory-backed relaunch in Australia, starting with the refreshed G6 SUV due to launch on July 1, 2026.
The 2026 Xpeng G6 range is headlined by an enhanced ‘XPILOT’ driver assistance suite with upgraded processing power courtesy of the Nvidia Orin-X chip – which is claimed to offer 254 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of processing performance and perception range “equivalent to more than 1.8 football fields”.
Other big changes include a new 800V electrical architecture with updated battery packs, in addition to a dual-motor flagship with 358kW/660Nm and a 0-100km/h acceleration claim of just 4.13 seconds.

“Pricing, warranty and ownership options” will be confirmed on July 1 in line with the updated SUV’s release, but we do know the 2026 G6 will offer RWD Standard Range, RWD Long Range and AWD Performance variations.
We also know that all models will include Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with massaging, dual 50W wireless phone chargers with cooling, and a 9.0-inch digital rear-view mirror.
Other highlights across the range include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 18-speaker X-Opera 2.0 audio system with 7.1.4-channel sound.
Design changes are more subtle, down to the new full-width LED front light bar, new alloy wheels and a ducktail rear spoiler integrated into the rear tailgate. New Michelin acoustic tyres reduce cabin noise by a claimed 10dB.

Under the skin, the aforementioned 800V electrical architecture brings 5C ultra-fast charging capability, with a quoted 451kW maximum charging rate.
That means a 10-80 per cent charge can take as little as 12 minutes at the maximum rate, with up to 427km of range added in as little as 15 minutes, according to the Chinese brand.
All models utilise lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries – 68.5kWh in the Standard Range, 80.8kWh in the Long Range – with quoted WLTP driving range ranging from 470-525km depending on model variant and wheel specification.
The Standard Range is powered by a 185kW/440Nm e-motor driving the rear axle, while the Long Range ups outputs to 218kW/440Nm. The 0-100km/h sprint takes a claimed 6.94s or 6.7s, respectively.

The AWD Performance adds a second motor on the front axle for system outputs of 358kW and 660Nm, reducing the 0-100km/h claim to 4.13 seconds while offering a claimed 510km of range.
Claimed energy consumption is 16.6-18.4kWh/100km depending on variant.
Meanwhile, the on-board vehicle to load (V2L) function can output a maximum 6kW to external devices.
