The 2027 Ford Bronco Filson has been unveiled in the US as a more upmarket version of the Ranger-based SUV, created in collaboration with the storied outdoor brand.

Ford has worked with Filson before, having unveiled the Bronco Filson Wildland Fire Rig concept in 2020 to showcase how a Bronco configured as a firefighting forestry vehicle could look.

Inspired by that concept, the production Bronco Filson has seen designers from both companies collaborate on the first showroom model from the partnership.

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Filson was founded in 1897 and produces outdoor clothing and equipment including footwear, fishing vests, beanies, water canteens and hunting knives.

It also has a partnership with the United States Forest Service.

First customer deliveries in the US of the Bronco Filson are expected in early 2027, with pricing announced “in the mid-$US70,000s” ($A106,319), compared to $US79,995 ($A113,400) for the flagship Bronco Raptor.

Ford Australia has told CarExpert it has no plans to bring the Bronco Filson – or any Bronco model grade – to Australian showrooms, despite it sharing its underpinnings with the Ford Ranger sold here.

The Filson will be the first sixth-generation Bronco beyond the flagship Raptor to be fitted with the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine – with all other models using smaller turbo 2.3-litre four-cylinder and twin-turbo 2.7-litre V6 petrol engines – although Ford hasn’t said if it will have the same 418 horsepower (312kW) and 440 lb-ft (597Nm) outputs.

It will come fitted as standard with the Sasquatch package, which adds 35-inch all-terrain tyres, front and rear locking differentials and Ford’s Goes Over Any Type of Terrain (GOAT) drive modes. The Filson also gains custom-tuned Fox shock absorbers featuring bypass valves.
