The Nissan Qashqai has come in for a nationwide product safety recall due to a potential fuel leak which may lead to an engine fire.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel pipe may chafe against the support bracket and become damaged,” says Nissan in its recall notice.
“If this occurs fuel may leak, potentially resulting in loss of motive power whilst driving, and if in the presence of an external ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.”

Nissan notes there’s no hazard relating to this recall, which is being conducted as a “robustness measure” to replace a temporary preventative measure with permanent repair, following the recall of more than 13,000 Qashqai vehicles in October 2025.
Only a relatively small number of Qashqais are affected by this recall, which once again involves petrol-only (non e-Power) versions of the current (J12-series) model produced before this year’s update.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing to request they contact an authorised Nissan dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge.
