Four out of the six model variants are offered with the e:HEV system, with prices starting at $49,900 drive-away for the e:HEV X and topping out at $64,900 drive-away for the flagship e:HEV RS.
The e:HEV X and e:HEV L are both front-wheel drive, while the e:HEV LX and e:HEV RS introduce all-wheel drive to the hybrid CR-V range for the first time.
The 2.0-litre petrol engine and electric motors produce combined maximum outputs of 135kW and 335Nm, and deliver claimed average fuel consumption figures of 5.5L/100km in two-wheel drive versions and 5.7L/100km with all-wheel drive.
With a 57-litre fuel tank that requires the most affordable 91-octane unleaded, hybrid versions of the CR-V have a theoretical driving range of 1000km between refills.
At the entry point to the CR-V range, the five-seat VTi-X (which costs $44,900 drive-away) and the seven-seat VTi-L7 (which costs $54,900 drive-away) are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine generating 140kW of power and 240Nm of torque, with combined fuel consumption of 7.1L/100km and 7.3L/100km respectively.
Whichever engine option you choose, the CR-V is ultra-efficient to run.
But, more significantly, it is among the most affordable to maintain with a capped-price service plan that limits the first five workshop visits to just $199 each, saving you thousands of dollars in upkeep compared to some of its rivals.
