The revival of Jensen continues, with confirmation the British auto brand’s new sports car will be named the Interceptor GTX and the release of a second exterior teaser image.
Jensen International Automotive (JIA) first released a teaser of its new V8-powered grand tourer in January, ahead of its planned mid-2026 launch.
The Interceptor GTX name pays homage to the original Jensen Interceptor, which was built between 1966 and 1976, and remains the most famous model from the historic British marque.
The latest teaser shows a rear view of the car, revealing more detail than before. A swooping roofline – visible in the earlier image – is joined by flush door handles, a floating C-pillar, and a full-width LED light bar incorporating ‘Jensen’ lettering.

Few additional details have been confirmed for the Interceptor GTX, which JIA describes as a “clean-sheet design”. The origin of its V8 engine is also yet to be disclosed.
The GT formula mirrors that of the original Interceptor, which paired a Chrysler-sourced V8 with a grand touring body, while the rarer FF variant added a chain-driven all-wheel drive system.
There’s no word yet on pricing for the British-built model, or whether it will be offered outside the UK in markets like Australia.
In a statement, JIA said: “Jeff Qvale, son of former Jensen Motors owner Kjell Qvale, is a key partner in the project and will play a crucial role in bringing the Jensen Interceptor GTX to market”.

JIA has previously focused on restoring classic Jensen models to a high standard before moving into new-vehicle production, with plans to build the GTX in-house.
It also hopes the project proves more enduring than previous attempts to revive the Jensen name, including the Interceptor S4 produced between 1983 and 1992.
The Jensen S-V8, powered by a Ford Mustang-sourced bent eight, followed between 2001 and 2002, while a later revival announced in 2011 by Healey Sports Cars Switzerland Limited failed to produce any customer vehicles.
