Three years after its launch, there’s a facelifted Jeep Avenger on the way, with the US off-road brand’s Brazilian division revealing the little SUV’s revised front-end, including the brand’s first illuminated grille.

The revised Avenger stepped out into the public in its role as the official car of the Everyone in Rio music festival.

Up front, the Avenger sports a new bumper with a slightly sharper design. The black plastic clad portion has expanded, and now encompasses the functional air intake slat that lives below the company’s signature seven-slot grille.

Speaking of the grille, the models pictured here have crisper surfacing, and no longer feature a silver frame around each slot. Were it not for the upper section of each slot now being illuminated, it would actually be hard in poor light to discern the seven slots.

So far the company has only provided images of the updated car’s front and sides, so we can’t see if there are any changes to the tail-lights or rear bumper. If there are any updates, they are likely to be minor.

Spy photos indicate some model grades will feature new alloy wheel designs, while the interior looks set to gain a larger touchscreen to replace the current 10.25-inch unit.
