Subaru Australia has launched a new special-edition WRX, introducing a new yellow paint finish to celebrate the 60,000th Australian delivery of its iconic sports sedan.

The 2026 Subaru WRX Club Spec Evo is the Japanese brand’s latest limited-run special to be introduced to Australia, bringing a new Sunrise Yellow exterior colour, ‘Club Spec Evo’ decals on the rear doors, matte black alloy wheels, and Recaro sports bucket seats with yellow stitching.

It’s based on the flagship WRX tS Spec B, which means that the above equipment is in addition to gear like gold Brembo brake calipers, adaptive damping tuned by Subaru’s in-house STI performance division, a six-speed manual transmission, and, naturally, the huge STI-style rear wing.

Its price of $63,190 before on-road costs makes it the most expensive WRX sedan currently on sale, as it’s exactly $1000 more than the tS Spec B. Prospective buyers will have to be quick to secure one – just 75 examples are now up for grabs in Australian showrooms.

The upgrades fitted to the Club Spec Evo echo those of the BRZ tS Kiiro, 95 examples of which were brought to Australia in January 2026. Both feature Recaro sports seats, yellow interior stitching, matte black alloy wheels, and the same Sunrise Yellow paint.

Like the BRZ, the new special-edition WRX brings no mechanical tweaks over the model it’s based on. It’s therefore powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine producing 202kW of power and 350Nm of torque, with drive sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.

As with any limited-run Subaru, the Club Spec Evo sports a unique interior badge commemorating the build number of that particular vehicle.

Importantly, this 60,000-unit milestone counts all WRX and Impreza WRX models sold in Australia since their introduction in 1994, but excludes the high-performance WRX STI. Subaru Australia celebrated the all-encompassing 70,000-unit sales milestone for the WRX and WRX STI in October 2025.
