Lexus has confirmed it will reveal its next flagship sports car at 11:00am Tokyo time this Friday (December 5, 2025), at the exact same event where its parent company will stage the global online debut of the Toyota GR GT supercar.
As part of its “All New Sports Models World Premiere” announcement overnight, Lexus released a darkened teaser image showing the silhouette of three vehicles including two road-going sports cars – one a Toyota, the other a Lexus – and a potential a track version for GT3 sports car racing.
One of the vehicles features a similar rear lighting signature to the Lexus Sport Concept revealed earlier this year, and the other is expected to be the Toyota GR GT, while the third may be a competition version with a rear wing out of shot.

The Japanese auto giant showed a pair of sports cars at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK in July, when both super-coupes were driven up the famous hill, wrapped in camouflage.
While declaring the two vehicles ‘brand agnostic’ at the time, Toyota has since announced it will stage the world debut of the GR GT this Friday.
The other vehicle was speculated to be a race version – or a potential successor to the legendary Ferrari-rivalling Lexus LFA supercar, a limited-edition V10-powered coupe which is now highly collectable.
The sleek Lexus Sport Concept was then revealed at Monterey Car Week in the US in August, before it received a mildly updated exterior for the Japan Mobility Show in October, where its cabin was shown for the first time.

Whether the Sport Concept previews a successor to the outgoing LC coupe and convertible or a belated replacement for the LFA is set to be confirmed with the December 5 unveiling.
Both the Toyota and the Lexus sports cars – whatever form they take – are likely to bring V8 hybrid power, after Toyota’s global powertrain chief confirmed that V8 engines will be fitted to future Lexus models, including the production version of the Sport Concept.
While details have not yet been confirmed, it’s widely expected that the Toyota GR GT will employ a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharge V8 hybrid powertrain, with the Lexus coupe potentially receiving a higher state of tune.
The December 5 debut of the two new Japanese sports cars will be the culmination of a reveal campaign that dates back to the Toyota GR GT3 concept – a track-tuned two-door racer – shown at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon.

The sports cars arrive as Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) is reshuffling its business to include Gazoo Racing (GR) as one of its five core global brands, with Lexus to be repositioned beneath ultra-luxury brand Century.
In 2026, Toyota will enter Australia’s premier Supercars motorsport category, which includes the iconic Bathurst 1000 endurance race, with a V8-powered version of the Supra.
Order books closed for the Supra in Australia in August, before production of Toyota’s flagship sports car – and the BMW Z4 with which it’s twinned – ending in March 2026.
You can watch the live stream debut of both new sports cars at 1:00pm AEDT Australian time this Friday on TMC’s YouTube channel.
