The Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE005 has been launched in the Australian market, with the new performance tyre replacing the RE003 after 11 years.

According to Bridgestone, the RE005 was created to “maximise driving pleasure” while offering a premium sports tyre for everyday driving – with the company specifically targeting the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 in the segment.

While the RE71 is the company’s road-legal semi-slick, the RE005 is aimed at those who use their vehicle for spirited road driving. The Potenza Sport bridges the gap for drivers who do the occasional track day.

Bridgestone says the new RE005 has been designed to offer superior grip and control, a high level of performance in wet conditions, and improved wear life.

The tyre’s rolling resistance coefficient is also said to make the RE005 ideal for sportier electric vehicles.

Compared to the outgoing model, the RE005 offers seven per cent greater dry grip, 12 per cent better wet grip, with wear life increasing by four per cent. The new tyre is also seven per cent lighter, based on a 225/40R18.
