Trikes aren’t usually considered motorcycles. They don’t lean (except for the Yamaha Niken and Vandenbrink Carver), and by and large, they don’t have the power-to-weight ratio of a motorcycle. They also don’t have the weather protection of a car, so on the face of it, trikes don’t really make sense. Which is why not many manufacturers have made them part of their portfolios.
Yet, there are a million different customizers that will convert your full-size tourer into a trike, and some of these customizers have been in business for a very long time. So there is indeed a market for the trike, and that means that there is a purpose that they serve. On that note, here’s a key player in this niche market, and it is from your favorite American giant.
How Do You Know If A Trike Is For You?
If you’re young and don’t have a chiropractor on speed dial, then definitely not. However, trikes become more and more lucrative with diminishing ability. Whether it is a differently-abled person who wants to ride, or a person getting on in age whose legs cannot support the massive weight of a full-dress tourer in a parking lot, a trike combines the best bits of a motorcycle (experiencing the elements) with the best bits of a car (not falling over). As with everything, it is a compromise, but it works exceedingly well for some. And that is why Harley-Davidson still has them in its range.
The Harley-Davidson Street Glide 3 Limited Gets Comfort And Reliability Just Right
2026 has seen The Motor Company rejig its touring range significantly. Some old names are back, and other familiar names have disappeared. One big change has happened with the trike range: there are more models, and the existing ones have been updated such that they are a much better experience now. There are, fittingly, three trikes for the 2026 model year, and of these, the Street Glide 3 Limited has just the right combination of features and price. That is the winning recipe.
Priced Quite Reasonably For Something As Big And Convenient As This!
The Harley-Davidson Street Glide 3 Limited has a base price of $39,199. But as always with the Harley touring range, the base price is just that – a base to build from. The olive green paint you see in these images is an optional extra. To be honest, there isn’t really an option from a manufacturer either, so if you seek the peace of mind that a factory warranty brings, there is no real substitute for a Harley trike.

The most affordable trike here is also the lightest of the bunch, with a curb weight of under 900 pounds.
New Engine Brings More Performance Than Before
Harley’s trike range was lagging behind the tourers until last year, being powered by the Milwaukee Eight 114 for the most part. With the new updates, they’ve taken a big leap ahead, with the Milwaukee Eight 117 VVT powering them. This 1,917 cc V-twin has the same tune as touring motorcycles like the Street Glide Limited, putting out 105 horsepower at 4,600 RPM and 129 pound-feet at 3,250 RPM. A six-speed gearbox sends the power to the rear axle, and H-D claims a fuel efficiency of 39 MPG, which is quite impressive for such a big, heavy vehicle.
Significant Chassis Updates Make A Big Difference
The basic chassis architecture hasn’t changed with the 2026 Street Glide 3 Limited, but the rear suspension has now been changed to a De Dion rear axle. This means travel is now up to 5 inches, from the previous setup’s 2.3 inches – a 117 percent increase! You can imagine what this means for comfort, especially for the pillion. Tool-free adjustment and 48 mm dual-bending valve telescopic forks remain unchanged.
The brakes consist of dual floating discs at the front with four piston fixed calipers, and each solid brake disc at the rear has a two-piston floating caliper with an integrated park brake. Cast aluminum wheels with a 19-inch front and wide 18-inch rears, and Dunlop tires with a bias ply front and radial rear tyres are present.
Outsize Dimensions Mean Outsize Comfort
There are always some incredible dimensions when it comes to trikes, and the Street Glide 3 Limited is no different. It starts off fairly normal, with a length of 105.7 inches and a wheelbase of 67.7 inches. But then you look at the 57.3-inch width, which is somewhere in between a motorcycle and a car. The fuel tank is a regular Harley touring tank, so it can hold a normal 6 gallons, but the weight is oversized, at 1,250 pounds. At least you get an incredible 7.1 cubic feet of luggage space!

A Truly Premium Features List Is Present
Harley-Davidson has stood true to the ‘Limited’ moniker here. The Street Glide 3 Limited gets a 12.3-inch TFT display with Skyline OS, meaning Bluetooth connectivity and navigation are available. You can also simply mirror your phone via wireless Apple CarPlay. A four-speaker audio system with 50 watts per channel is also standard. Other standard features include all-LED lighting, highway ‘pegs, a heel gearshift pedal, heated grips, and heated seats for both rider and pillion.
The safety is comprehensive, with all of Harley’s safety features included on the list. That means cornering ABS, cornering electronically linked brakes, cornering traction control, cornering drag-torque slip control, and a tire pressure monitoring system are all present. The by-wire throttle also offers access to ride modes.
The options list is comprehensive. The olive green colorway you see in the images is a $2,250 option, with the most expensive paint option priced at $4,000. If you want a blacked-out look instead of chrome, that will cost you $1,400 more. The rest of the options list includes protection, upgrades for the audio system, guards for various items like the luggage, and a Vortex air cleaner. And no, a kickstand isn’t included on the options list, for all of you who will inevitably make this joke.

There Is No Competition From Other Manufacturers
Trikes are a niche product, and there are some very good customizers doing quality conversions from a touring motorcycle of your choice. However, if you want a trike straight from the factory, there is literally only one brand you can go to that will give you peace of mind. And the Street Glide 3 Limited sits in the middle of the three trikes from Milwaukee. For a few thousand dollars more than the Road Glide 3, you have a lot more kit, making it more desirable and better value than either of the other two models in the range.
