Volvo revealed more than just the 2027 EX60 all-electric premium crossover today in Stockholm. Not to be overlooked is a variant for the folks who like heading to where the pavement turns to dirt, grass, gravel — maybe even a stream for fording.
While the EX60 goes on sale in spring, with first U.S. deliveries this summer, the 2028 Volvo EX60 Cross Country will reach its new owners later in 2027. With up to 400 miles of range, Volvo claims leadership among midsize premium electric crossovers.
2027 Volvo EX60 Charges Forward In Uncertain Times
Volvo claims class-leading range and integrates ground-breaking seatbelts and user experience in this two-row all-electric crossover.
Scandinavian Practicality
Whether you choose the standard EX60 or the Cross Country, you’ll get essentially the same vehicle with similar interior features, with an emphasis on natural, low-gloss materials to help advance the Scandinavian aesthetic. A long wheelbase (116.9 inches) that’s identical for both EX60 and Cross Country makes for versatility, practicality and smart storage.

Google Gemini Onboard
Both vehicles are also the first Volvos to launch with Gemini, the new AI assistant from Google, enabling natural speech (instead of scripted commands) in asking to make a phone call, change the cabin temperature or find a destination while driving.

21-Inch Rims + Skidplates
But the Cross Country will have certain unique hallmarks, such as special wheels (21-inches with all-season rubber), branding on the front and rear bumpers and skidplates in brushed stainless steel at the front and rear. Wheel arches are wider and made to give the Cross Country a rugged stance. And it comes in a new color, Frost Green, exclusive to the Cross Country.
How’s EX30 Cross Country Selling?
We were hoping to gauge demand for the new Cross Country based on how well the smaller, all-electric EX30 Cross Country has been selling since it went on sale last year. But U.S. customers have not yet taken delivery of those models, so that information will have to wait.
CC Will Cost How Much More?
Volvo says the 2027 EX60 will be “well equipped around $60,000,” but Cross Country version will likely cost more. For context, the EX30 Plus starts around $39,000, while its Cross Country version adds on $9,000 to the sticker.
Air Suspension For More Clearance
The EX60 Cross Country brings a modest 20 millimeters (0.78-inch) of extra ground clearance over the EX60. Pay extra for the optional air suspension, and your Cross Country tacks on yet another 20 mm of ride height.
0.27 Drag Coefficient
The air suspension also can lower the EX60 Cross Country to improve stability, efficiency and aerodynamics on the highway, potentially extending battery range depending on the conditions. For you wind tunnel folks, the coefficient of drag is 0.27 for the Cross Country and 0.26 for the standard EX60.
Volvo Wants To Give Its Customers Something They Never Asked For
The EX60 will use the Google Gemini AI assistant, which could simplify the driver interface — or become a source of frustration.
503 HP or 670 HP
If you’re serious about ordering an EX60 Cross Country, you’ll need to choose between two all-wheel-drive powertrains: the 503-horsepower dual-motor with 300 miles of range or the 670-horsepower P12 variant with a bigger battery and more range, but Volvo hasn’t yet said how much more.
