The BMW 7 Series facelift looks set for its debut in the not-too-distant future with the automaker teasing the car’s revised lighting signature, and leaked images appearing online.

Last week BMW posted an image on Instagram showing the graphics of the facelift’s daytime running lights, and illuminated double-kidney grille.

This week CarSpyShots.net posted two undisguised photos of the facelifted 7 Series on its Facebook page. These were seemingly sneakily taken a preview event, and show a fairly significant revision to the sedan’s front end.

Those hoping for a conservative makeover of the 7 Series will be disappointed, with the Bavarian automaker doubling down on the big sedan’s eye-catching appearance. BMW has previously stated the bold look is necessary for the Chinese market, where more expressive designs help to convey status and wealth.

The facelift continues with a split headlight treatment, although this time the main headlight unit has been slimmed down and is now hidden in a blacked out vertical section that also houses the side air intakes.

Again, the double kidney grille is available with an illuminated frame. The shape of the grille itself has become a little squarer and taller than before, while the rest of the front bumper has blockier surfacing.
