The all-new 2026 Nissan Navara has been priced from $53,348 before on-road costs – $2620 more than the equivalent version of the outgoing model, and higher than the Mitsubishi Triton on which it’s based – ahead of first customer deliveries from March 1, 2026.
In a significant push upmarket, the new-generation Navara will be available in just four model grades – all of them dual-cab 4×4 automatic pickups – with an average price increase of $2943, and a Pro-4X off-road flagship that will be $5865 pricier than before.
The entry-level 2026 Navara SL will be priced from $53,348 plus on-roads, up from $50,728 plus ORCs for the previous SL dual-cab 4×4 automatic, which is currently on offer for $44,990 drive-away in runout.
That also makes the cheapest new Navara more expensive than the equivalent Mitsubishi Triton GLX 4×4 auto, which has a list price of $51,440 plus ORCs, though Mitsubishi is currently offering drive-away deals on 2025 stock with discounts of up to $3000.

For further comparison, the most affordable dual-cab 4×4 auto pickup version of the market-leading Ford Ranger – the XL with a lower-spec 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine – is priced at $51,400 plus ORCs in MY26.5 guise.
Further up the slimmed-own Navara range, the new ST will be priced at $56,765 (up from $55,833), the ST-X at $63,177 (previously $60,823 including leather trim), and the Pro-4X at $68,148 (up from $62,283) – all prices exclude on-road costs (see the table below).
A replacement for the hardcore, locally developed Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior has yet to be revealed or priced.
While it was previously a unique model, the new-generation Navara is based on the current Triton introduced locally in 2023, as the two Japanese automakers seek cost efficiencies in their industrial alliance with Renault.
As a result, the 2026 Navara shares its ladder-frame platform, diesel powertrain and all other major components with the Triton, including its 150kW/470Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, six-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive system.
Both dual-cab 4×4 auto vehicles have the same combined fuel-consumption claim of 7.7L/100km.
Nissan Australia says the new-generation Navara is more than a lightly restyled Mitsubishi, however, citing a longer warranty and higher standard equipment levels, which it has assigned dollar values to in an effort to justify the price premium.
But while there is a Warrior range-topper to come, the Navara’s four-grade dual-cab 4×4 auto-only lineup is narrower than the Triton range.
Available in five trim levels, Mitsubishi offers the Triton in single-, extended- and double-cab body styles, with manual and automatic transmissions, as well as two- and four-wheel drive options.
For the entry-level SL, which Nissan Australia claims includes $1300 of additional value, extra equipment includes a rear differential lock, LED headlights and tail-lights, velour seat trim, digital radio (DAB+) and tailgate assist.
Nissan also points to another key difference that it says sets the Navara apart from its rivals, with every model employing a unique suspension tune calibrated for local roads by Melbourne-based engineering firm Premcar – the company responsible for the hard-core Navara Warrior and Patrol Warrior.
The Navara ST has a claimed $1330 value advantage over its Triton equivalent, with LED headlights and tail-lights, heated and electrically retractable body-coloured door mirrors, leather-accented seat trim, carpet flooring, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and tailgate assist.
For the ST-X, Nissan says a standard sports bar and tailgate assist are valued at $1100, while on the Pro-4X a standard towbar is worth $1200.
The Navara offers the benchmark 3500kg braked towing capacity and ground clearance of 228mm – matching the Triton – but has a marginally higher payload of up to 1094kg, compared with the Triton’s 1083kg.
There’s also a longer warranty, with both brands offering 10 years of aftersales coverage conditional on dealer servicing, though Nissan provides coverage for up to 300,000km compared with Mitsubishi’s 200,000km distance limit.
And Nissan’s roadside assistance extends to 10 years or 300,000km – again conditional on servicing with the brand – compared with Mitsubishi’s 10-year or 150,000km offer.
The Navara also comes with its first five services capped at $499, marginally cheaper than the Triton’s variable servicing costs, which average $527 per service across the first five visits – totalling $2635 compared with the Navara’s $2495.

While order books are now open, first deliveries of the new Navara are officially scheduled for March 1, with stock arriving at some showrooms prior to that.
