As special editions go, the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC200 Avantgarde isn’t particularly special.

Mercedes-Benz has given the entry-level variant of its popular mid-size SUV free metallic paint, and a set of rather unusual 18-inch “aerodynamically optimised” alloy wheels. These replace the handsome 10-spoke 19-inch alloys found on the regular GLC200.

As the name suggests, the special edition also features the Avantgarde exterior styling already available on the GLC200, and isn’t offered with the sportier-looking AMG Line trim.

Where the Avantgarde gets more interesting is in its price tag. At $85,400 before on-road costs, it’s actually cheaper than the GLC200 it’s based on, which retails for $89,000 plus on-roads.

Mercedes-Benz is also offering the special edition with a nationwide drive-away price of $84,490 until April 30, 2026.

The company says the Avantgarde will be offered in Australia in “limited numbers only”.
