There is no dearth of clever motorcycles from polar-opposite segments that share platforms and engines. The wildest of them are cruisers, tourers, ADVs, and even naked bikes. This list compiles a vibrant and unexpected bunch of motorcycles that you least expect to pack the same engine as aggressive sports bikes. Ranging from the perfect beginner-friendly cruiser bike to a 200+ horsepower, carbon-fiber-clad touring bike (sharing its engine with the ultimate superbike), there are a lot of surprises here.
This list is organized in increasing order of power figures, from the least powerful to the most powerful.
Here Are The Most Powerful Sports Bikes From All Popular Brands
The sports bike market might be a shadow of its former self, but there are still some incredibly powerful bikes available to us
CFMoto 450CL-C
Power: 40 Horsepower
The 2026 CFMoto 450CL-C starts at $5,799. This beginner-friendly cruiser bike is noteworthy for its no-compromise construction despite the aggressive price tag. The fit-and-finish is solid, and there is commendable tech on board. It is also very accessible, with a seat height of just 27.0 inches and a curb weight of 399 pounds. However, the surprise element of this cozy urban-friendly cruiser bike is its sports-bike-style engine.
The 449 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine shares its bore and stroke, as well as other internal components, with the mill on the sharp-looking CFMoto 450SS. Both even share the same transmission setup with a CF-SC slipper clutch. The performance tuning, obviously, is different. You get 40 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque, which peaks early with a meaty mid-range. In comparison, the 450SS has 51 horsepower and 29.5 pound-feet of torque.
Aprilia Tuareg 660
Power: 80 Horsepower
The $12,499 Aprilia Tuareg 660 is an explosive middleweight ADV aimed right at the famed Yamaha Tenere 700’s off-roading finesse. It has a calculated combination of lightweight components, off-road-focused suspension and tires, and rugged protective construction. Completing this package is a power-packed parallel-twin engine.
This 270-degree parallel-twin produces 80 horsepower at 9,250 RPM, and 51.6 pound-feet of torque at 6,500 RPM. This is a shared mill that also powers the RS 660 middleweight sports bike, albeit tuned to produce less power down in the revs. The RS 660 is clearly designed for more performance, packing 105 horsepower and 51.6 pound-feet of torque.
MV Agusta Turismo Veloce
Power: 110 Horsepower
The $20,598 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce is an exotic touring bike that blends practicality and comfort with luxury appeal and performance. It gets a tall windscreen, comfortable seating for two, color-matched weatherproof saddlebags, and a bouquet of top-spec electronics to make mile-munching a breezy affair. At heart, you get an inline-3 engine that is quite popular in the MV Agusta family.
It is shared with many cool bikes, including the drop-dead-gorgeous F3 sports bike. The Turismo Veloce produces 110 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 143 mph. Peak power and torque are also produced in the mid-range to help with its practical all-day riding appeal. On the F3, however, this mill is a screamer, producing up to 160 horsepower. It also shares bits like the trellis frame and top-spec tech, including ride-by-wire, cornering ABS, and a quickshifter.

Yamaha Tracer 9
Power: 117 Horsepower
This is a sports tourer that can do it all. The $12,599 Yamaha Tracer 9 is a well-balanced middleweight that combines compact dimensions, relaxed ergonomics, clever technology, and proven durability to offer a versatile one-bike experience. The primary reason for its flexible nature is its shared elements. That includes the same engine as the Ducati-rivaling Yamaha R9.
The famed CP3 inline-3 engine on the Tracer 9 produces 117 horsepower at 10,000 RPM and 68.6 pound-feet of torque at 7,000 RPM. Yes, the state of tune is similar between the two. In addition, the Tracer 9 and R9 both use an aluminum main frame and an identical electronic suite. Lean-sensitive traction control, slide control, lift control, and brake control with cornering ABS are all standard here.
Suzuki GSX-S1000GX+
Power: 152 Horsepower
This is a very underrated sports tourer. The $18,749 GSX-S1000GX+ is Suzuki’s answer to the wild likes of the BMW S 1000 XR and the Kawasaki Versys 1100. All its rivals have one thing in common: superbike DNA. The GSX-S1000GX also follows a similar formula by sharing most of its underpinnings with the mighty GSX-R1000R sports bike. At the crux of this formula is the seasoned, reliable 999 cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine, designed for a broad, smooth torque curve.
This sports tourer produces 150 horsepower at 11,000 RPM and 78.2 pound-feet of torque at 9,250 RPM. The six-speed close-ratio gearbox on the GX is also derived from the GSX-R1000R and is assisted with a standard up-and-down quickshifter. Apart from the engine, the GX tourer also gets tweaked versions of the twin-spar aluminum main frame, Brembo radial-mount monobloc calipers, and S.I.R.S. electronic suite from the Gixxer superbike.
Vyrus 987 C3 4V
Power: 163 Horsepower
This is an ultra-exclusive Italian sports bike. The Vyrus 987 C3 4V is all about exotic appeal. It features a bold design characterized by hub-center steering and a push-rod setup, which separates braking and suspension forces. The chassis uses aluminum and carbon to save weight and enhance its nimbleness.
Amidst the many bespoke components of this wild-looking motorcycle, the engine is a familiar element, as it is derived from the Ducati 1098R. It’s the 1,198.4 cc Testastretta Evoluzione L-twin engine, featuring sand-cast crankcases, titanium rods and valves, and magnesium valve covers. It also gets 65 mm elliptical throttle bodies with twin injectors. The aggressive weight-saving decisions help the Vyrus 987 C3 4V weigh in at just 350 pounds.
Buell Super Cruiser
Power: 175 Horsepower
This is the most anticipated cruiser bike of 2026. The Buell Super Cruiser is an American-bred power cruiser that packs serious power. It is powered by Buell’s iconic 1,190 cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine producing 175 horsepower and 94 pound-feet of torque. This engine is also utilized in a wilder format on the underrated Hammerhead 1190 superbike. But the peak has been chopped off to promote low-end grunt.
Beyond the engine, the Super Cruiser also shares components such as the swing arm, wheels and tires, certain braking components, and a slew of top-spec electronics, including the dashboard. Even the front suspension setup is similar in both motorcycles. The Super Cruiser differs in that it has an extended front fork and a lower stem.

The superbike DNA thrives in the Diavel RS, with the engine also featuring a twin-pulse firing order, a semi-dry sump, a high compression ratio of 14.0:1, and an electronic fuel injection system with 50 mm elliptical throttle bodies. It even flaunts titanium exhaust elements. Other shared components include Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers, a radial master cylinder, and a 5-inch TFT. The 2026 Ducati Diavel V4 RS has a starting price of $39,995.
BMW M 1000 XR
Power: 201 Horsepower
The BMW M 1000 XR is the first-ever M-badged sports tourer. This is a very special motorcycle packed with the absolute best of technology and features that BMW offers on two wheels. That is true for the engine as well, as you get a four-cylinder engine shared with the popular S 1000 RR sports bike. Peak power of 201 horsepower is produced at a screaming 12,750 RPM, and the redline is set at 14,600 RPM.
Other notable “sports bike-shared” features include a by-wire throttle, various ride modes (including three distinct M modes), engine brake control, and wheelie control, among others. The M 1000 XR also features exclusive features, including Launch Control, Hill Start Control, and a pit-lane speed limiter.
