Dodge introduced the widebody on the 2020 Charger SRT model, widening the exterior by 3.5 inches. The manufacturer also stiffened the suspension and introduced wider tires to improve the vehicle’s performance around corners. The changes improved grip and handling but added drag, hampering the SRT’s straight-line speed: top speed from 2019 to 2020 fell by 8 MPH.

Powering the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 churning out 668 horsepower. The vehicle’s standard stick shift is a rarity among sports sedans. The six-speed manual transmission version is predictably fun to drive but a tad slower to 60 MPH than a CT5-V Blackwing with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Nevertheless, both variants annihilate 60 MPH in under 3.7 seconds, peaking at over 200 MPH.
Suggesting that the CT5-V Blackwing didn’t have enough power, Hennessey got to work producing a 1000 horsepower version of the Cadillac. Despite having 1000 horsepower, the Hennessey version doesn’t accelerate to 60 MPH quicker than the original car. The XE SV Project 8 represented an attempt by Jaguar to create a track-shredding sports sedan. Just when you thought the Charger Hellcat Widebody couldn’t get more bonkers, Dodge introduced the Redeye variant. It featured the same 6.2-liter V-8 in the Charger Hellcat Widebody, tuned to produce 797 horsepower. The Jailbreak performance package boosted the power to 807 horsepower.
The fire-breathing Redeye zoomed to 60 MPH from zero in 3.5 seconds and cleared a quarter-mile at 126 MPH in 11.5 seconds. It maxes out at 203 MPH, enough to smoke a Corvette C8. Dodge’s decision to scrap the gas-powered Charger disheartened the car world. However, the Charger bowed out with its head held high, knowing it could school most sports sedans in a race.
