America doesn’t seem to have as big a motorcycle industry as some pockets of the globe do. It will probably never have the numbers that SE Asia does, for example. However, it has been and will always be one of the leaders when it comes to premium motorcycles. After all, traditional American brands have built their reputation for quality, tech, and comfort over decades.

An interesting twist is the new crop of American manufacturers that have ventured beyond chrome and V-twin engines. They have developed enormously capable naked bikes, electric two-wheelers that can match up to the best in the world, and in one case, a terrifyingly quick sport bike powered by a turbine engine that can run on diesel, kerosene, or jet fuel. On that note, here are ten American motorcycles that are worth every dollar in 2026.

Harley-Davidson Nightster

Harley-Davidson has been cutting prices across its range, but one of the first price drops of the current products was that of the Nightster. A price under $10,000 has suddenly made it a very good value product for the masses. At that price, you get variable valve timing, a liquid-cooled engine, a modern chassis, Brembo brakes, ride modes, traction control, ABS, drag-torque slip control, and the most powerful cruiser under $10,000.

Can-Am might be better known for its three-wheeled ‘motorcycles’, but the Origin is a genuine two-wheeler. This is an electric dual sport, and it fancies itself as a bit of an adventure bike, too. There are some impressive features on it, like a 10.25-inch TFT touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay, a single-sided swingarm, KYB suspension, and a compartment where you can not only keep but also charge your phone.

We like the Street Bob so much that we think it is the best Harley-Davidson Softail for the masses. Its price, like the Nightster’s, has gone through cuts, and now it is a genuinely impressive value proposition, making it once again worth every dollar through bang for your buck alone. It helps that it has all-LED lighting, cruise control, Showa forks, optional tubeless laced rims, ride modes, and a six-axis IMU.

The 101 Scout sits at the top of its range in terms of performance. Rightly so, as it has a lot to live up to with that name. Accordingly, you get the highest power output for a Scout, and it adds features like Brembo front brakes with radial calipers, adjustable suspension all around, and a TFT display with connected features to give you a thoroughly modern experience.

Indian Chief Vintage

Indian has got one thing absolutely right in 2026: the looks of the Chief Vintage. If you’re a fan of retro American cruisers, there is no way you’re not going to go goggle-eyed at how pretty it looks. It’s got the valanced fenders, the floating single seat, and floorboards. Under all that retro beauty is the Thunderstroke 116, with features like a by-wire throttle, rear cylinder deactivation, and a six-speed gearbox. Oh, and there is a TFT display with connected features here, too.

Buell Hammerhead 1190

Price: $20,995

Buell Hammerhead 1190 Wheelie Buell

Let it not be said that America can’t make a good sport bike. Sure, the Lightnings and Damons of the world might be around (or they might not be), but you can certainly get yourself a Hammerhead from Buell if you want a sure thing. It’s a recipe as old as time: bang a powerful V-twin into a sport bike chassis, and give it sweet handling. Since this is a Buell, you know some weirdness will be going on. Here, the engine oil is stored in the frame, the front brake is a rim-mounted one, and you can spec it with carbon fiber bodywork!

The DSR/X is a pioneer, because it isn’t just the world’s first electric ADV, it remains the only one, too. There are some truly premium features at that admittedly steep price. They include a liquid-cooled motor, Showa suspension, ride modes, cruise control, hill hold assist, a combined/linked braking system, a 5-inch TFT display, and a decent tank range coupled with fairly quick charge times.

The Street Glide’s 2026 MY is pretty much a carryover from last year with some minor updates, but the biggest update is its price. At under $25,000, it has now got a genuinely attractive base price that includes a 12.3-inch TFT display with Apple CarPlay, a by-wire throttle, and a six-axis IMU that offers access to Harley’s full safety suite, including tire pressure monitoring. You do need to dip into the options list for better colorways and a pillion seat, though.

Indian Challenger PowerPlus

The Challenger with the PowerPlus engine is probably the sportiest tourer in the Indian lineup. There is the powerful, liquid-cooled PowerPlus engine with the six-speed gearbox, of course. But coupled with it are inverted forks, Fox rear shocks that are electronically adjustable, and Brembo brakes. Like the Street Glide, it also gets a by-wire throttle, six-axis IMU, a full safety suite, TPMS, a large TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, and satellite navigation. It adds some more features like keyless ignition and connected features that make it genuinely good value.

Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide ST

Price: $44,999

2026 harley-davidson cvo street glide st action Harley-Davidson

The CVO Street Glide ST is a new addition to Harley’s tourer lineup for 2026, and it offers everything that the CVO Road Glide ST offered, but in Street Glide form. That means the fork-mounted fairing and a headlamp that swivels with the handlebars. The Milwaukee Eight 121 High Output engine ditches variable valve timing for a tune that focuses on maximum attack. It’s the same with the suspension and brakes; radial front calipers, inverted forks, and wave discs are paired with race-ready suspension and extra ride modes that are configured for the racetrack. Does it make sense as a trackday machine? Absolutely not. Does that stop us from wanting one? Absolutely not!
